Seen on a T-shirt, "Love is like two loaves and five small fish, too little until you start giving it"
Met Elias Chacour at The Prophet Elias School. It was fascinating to hear the story of the school, how it was built not with permits, but bricks and mortar !
Elias when he was building the school was summoned to the courts on a Sunday morning. He phoned the Judge to say that he couldn't attend for religious reasons, so the Judge postponed the hearing for six months to another Sunday. This carried on for six years, in which time the school was built !
At the school is a monument in Hebrew "This monument is for Palestinian martyrs" and opposite in Arabic "This monument is for Jewish martyrs", and in the middle of this circular monument, "Listen to the martyrs - no more martyrs".
As we went into the room to listen to Elias another group were coming out and found out that they were from Willow Creek in America (I asked them to say "Hi" to Bill Hybels !)
Over to Akko for lunch. Nice little place but the food was really expensive, shared sandwiches with Cath watching the children diving into the sea.
Spent the afternoon sitting beside the mediterranean - finished my third book, only one left to go.
